Pedro Ortega

Marketing Associate

Pedro is originally from Nayarit, Mexico but grew up just down the street in East Palo Alto, California, where he was able to see the work of non-profits firsthand. He attended after-school programs, played sports with the Ravenswood Youth Athletics Association, and was a Boy Scout! After graduating from Eastside College Preparatory School, he got the opportunity to be the first in his family to attend a four year-university.

Pedro obtained his BA in Communication Studies from Sonoma State University, and soon after college came back home as a Volunteer and Communications Manager at Hope Horizon East Palo Alto, prior to joining CHC.

He is a firm believer that youth should have access to every and any resource necessary for them to progress and succeed! Being passionate about working in the non-profit sector comes from all the work and change he’s seen firsthand in his community. Pedro is excited to work alongside CHC to expand advocacy and support in the interaction of mental health and learning differences, helping empower the youth to find their strengths and develop tools for the future!

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, trying new restaurants and recipes, spending time with his dogs, and occasionally being outdoors.
