Mark Engler, MA

Speech Language Pathologist

Mark Engler (he/him/his) collaborates with families by providing relationship-driven speech and language support in both English and Spanish. He is passionate about setting therapy goals that align with clients’ motivations and interests to help them better access the world around them. He has practiced as a speech language pathologist for the last decade in diverse settings across Pennsylvania, Texas, and California. He has participated in continuing education opportunities relating to special topics in evaluation, such as implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems, assessment of autistic learners, evidence-based evaluation of bilingual/bicultural school-aged children, and Dynamic Assessment. He most recently completed the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol training for providing speech and language intervention for kids with childhood apraxia of speech. Mark believes that all children can become successful communicators with the right combination of supports.

Mark’s extensive background in early intervention within home settings, as well as his expertise in service planning and implementation across general education and special day class school environments, uniquely equips him to provide effective strategies for improving functional communication and social language skills across contexts. He is well-versed in counseling families and advocating for school-based services, making him a comprehensive resource to both his fellow clinicians and the clients he serves.

Mark plays a pivotal role in sharing insights around language delays within the complex context of bilingual language development and commits to working closely with clinical teams and families to realize measurable gains and enhanced self-expression.

Outside of speech and language practice, Mark loves to study other languages (French, German) and the origins of language traditions. He enjoys relaxing with his family, playing music and exploring the natural beauty of the Bay.
