California Tragedies: Response and Support from CHC

Dear CHC Community,
As we process the shocking news from Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay, our collective hearts break for the victims, their loved ones and the communities to which they belong. And for all of us, really, who are once again reminded of the fragility of life and senseless acts of violence that occur even in our peaceful neighboring towns.
Beyond sadness, we may feel anger: how could we let this happen again? These tragedies may trigger past traumas, raising both our blood pressure and feelings of futility.
CHC encourages its staff and every member of our community to please take a moment to check in with yourself, your colleagues, friends and family. While we cannot bring back the lives of the innocent victims or prevent future tragedies from taking place, we do have the power to show up for each other.
There is still so much good in the world. We owe it to ourselves––and to our kids––to remain hopeful, look for the good and strive for a better tomorrow. In the meantime, your grief and exasperation is valid and understandable. Please take a look at these vetted resources curated by CHC clinicians and educators to help you and your family navigate these difficult times.
CHC is here for you and if you need support at this time, please reach out to our CHC Care Team.
